My work is whimsical, technicolored, and usually somewhat autobiographical when life gets interesting for me.  I’m finding when my life is on a steady course, the painting becomes more of a science than a romance; but every situation helps me understand and develop it further.

My work is whimsical, technicolored, and usually somewhat autobiographical when life gets interesting for me.  I’m finding when my life is on a steady course, the painting becomes more of a science than a romance; but every situation helps me understand and develop it further.

Acrylics are my medium – I paint on canvas, wood and paper.  I start with a heavy texture of gesso and then use sponges to create the ethereal backgrounds. The shininess found on the majority of my paintings is an oil varnish that makes the colors pop and gives them a sepia finish.

I am inspired by my affection for Dr. Seuss, my love of trees, and of the landscape that surrounds me.
