Chancing a Dream- at Best
A Simple Crush
From a random glance.
An interest sparked
Curious at best.
A night inoculated
By luscious inebriation—
Where you and a moment happened.
Nothing less than the truth in a slur
An extension past a normal introduction.
A blackness in my mind
Where words were said.
A memory in my mind
Of only your smile.
A curious call assessing my consciousness
A return of embarrassed regret
The chance had seemingly passed
My first impression a mess—at best.
Chances are for deserving lovers
Second glances across vibrant rooms.
A second encounter
A feeling confirmed
Not simply of drunken bliss
But the potential murmur of something real.
A fondness unspoken
But read from within
As together they retreat into the night.
To hours of days
Full of truth and emotion.
Words escaping from loose lips
And in the phrases of conversational bodies.
No filter on our thoughts
Hesitation collapsed
Crushed by the inexplicable comfort
Of the other.
A surreal attraction
Random at Best
Breeding deeper and deeper
Into mind-numbing satisfaction
The desire for closeness
For a touch and more truth.
Two souls once broken
Hearts fearing the wrath of true love.
A vicious force denies uncertainty
As their lips press,
Bodies Collide,
And the words stop.
The conversation was unnecessary
Only a seeming need
To confirm the contents and meaning
Of their passionate nights.
An attempt first made
To slow the pace.
Weary of chancing a dream.
But caution breeds vigor of tantric proportions
A rebellion against fear
And the acceptance of human emotion.
A gripping desire
Versus a grappling mind
Unable to be restrained.
As the pleasure surmounts
It succumbs to the idea
Of both fate and temptation.
Both holding on
Fingers crossed, Legs intertwined
To optimism and romance
To the possibility that not all love must be lost
And that in cautious hope
They let it all go
And get lost in love once again.

"Art, or the graphic translation of a culture, is shaped by the way space is perceived. Electric circuitry is recreating in us the multidimensional space orientation of the primitive."
