The CAMMIES are back!
Celebrating it’s third year, the CAMMIES (Chico Area Music Awards) is back to recognize emerging and popular Chico area bands and solo performers, and to illuminate the region’s developing music scene. The CAMMIES is the younger sibling of the Sacramento News & Review’s 16-year-old SAMMIES celebration, and the Chico News & Review is more pumped than ever to start the party.
The CAMMIES awards Ceremony is scheduled Thurs., May 1 at the El Rey Theatre, and in March and April the CN&R will again be working with the nominated bands and local venues (Nick’s Night Club, LaSalles, Café Coda, Lost on Main, 33 Steaks, The Crux and more) to put on a dozen separate genre showcases. Dates and times for showcases will be posted very soon

"As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has—or ever will have—something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression."
