extremely vauge upcoming project
my good pal, preston, and i are currently throwing ideas at each other, violently. the general consistency of these ideas is a soupy broth of inconsistent rambling, but we're making slow progress towards actually creating something rather than using brain smattering to further our incredible male egos.
about this idea: we have the idea that we are to make something of an experimental album, based around the idea of using strange, traditional instruments mostly related to celtic musics.
we have conflicting ideas on what are equipment should be, and what the general feel of the album would be(electronic effects, or full acoustic, etc..). but we have to reach solid agreements on rather large details of that sort.
the layout of music is a bit easier, but could be effected in a large way if we decided to go either semi-electric or acoustic. think of how The Mars Volta would sound acoustic or perhaps Alarm Will Sound sounded when they covered Aphex Twin tracks.
we could use a lot of input on ideas, if anyone is willing to contribute their ideas. if you want to know more about what i'm thinking for the concept, you should find me in person, but so far i'm thinking a bit of ambient sound that slowly morphs into what would be tunes written by preston and i with quite a bit of effects thrown in to add dimension and pretty defined layers. it's abstract and caters to a small audience for sure, but i would really enjoy it. the idea and what i would call the 'color' of it is fairly descriptive in my head, but i am having a hard time projecting that mental image.
i'm not even sure if any of this is coherent, but i'm submitting it anyway
