Ch*Eco Film Fest

Please come April 11-15 for the first annual ChEco Film Fest, Chico’s own festival of environmental film and art that brings into sharper focus the broad concept of sustainability. The purpose of the Ch·Eco Film Fest is to inform, educate, and inspire people about the environment through the exceptional media of film and art. The festival’s emphasis is on balancing the needs of our economy, our society, and the natural environment so people can prosper, generation after generation, while respecting and sustaining the earth.

In addition to more than 20 excellent films, festival highlights include Denis Hayes, founder of Earth Day; a personal appearance by Sergio Del La Torre, producer and director of Maquilapolis; the Banff Mountain Film Festival; and Sunday Art Day in Chico’s downtown plaza plus other family-friendly events. Admission to most events and films is free or by donation; admission to the Banff Mountain Film Festival is $6-8.
The Ch·Eco Film Fest is co-hosted by California State University, Chico, the Chico Sustainability Group, Friends of the Arts, and the Sierra Club Yahi Group. For complete information about the festival, including a description of films and a festival schedule, see www.checofilmfest.org.
