Description: Winner of the 1977 Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Best Drama, The Shadow Box is a poetic and often very funny meditation on life, love, hope, and the ultimate journey. In the course of one fresh spring day three terminally ill patients and their loved ones gather at hospice cottages on the grounds of a hospital. The manner in which each individual confronts the impending loss of a loved one is as diverse as human nature itself—touching, tearful, courageous, angry, blindly hopeful, and at times, surprisingly hilarious.
