BOHO ART of PEACE

Submitted by kyledelmar on November 2, 2009, 3:02pm.

The Art of Peace was a two-night event that brought together some of Chico's finest designers, artists, performers, local business owners, and friends for a peaceful gathering of fashion, art and joie de vivre.

croquet birthday partay

Submitted by ImPress on September 8, 2009, 9:48pm.

Sunday, September sixth marked a celebratory match of croquet in honor of Commonpath.org president Kyle "Uncle Chopper" Delmar's 28th day o' birth. Surrounded by family, friends and passerbys, Delmar conquered his opponents and came in first place two out of the three games he played. His thorny competitor? Father Tim Delmar, who beat Kyle during a heated match of Poison Ball. I think Jer Bear Golden Boy said it best when he patted Kyle on the shoulder after the game and said, "He brought you into this world, and he can take you out."

Bike PowerRangers

The Chico Bicycle Music Festival turned both heads and wheels Saturday. I caught some of the action during the farmers market. The sound for the festival was all powered by bikes plugged into inverters! Festival goers were in great spirits and the weather was perfect. Bikes are in, cars are out, and that is what it's all about. More info on bike powered music.

Nudity, Sleaze Tax, The Severance Package, and The Purple Dragons

Submitted by kyledelmar on March 21, 2009, 8:14am.

Shit was insane at the 46 gallery Friday night, March twentyfirst. Purple Dragons (literally, Dragons that were purple) started the night off with mad-mini-drum-salmming, fire breathing, root-beer drinking, Jolly Rancher pondering, guitar wailing insanity.

Burningman

Submitted by Weston on September 4, 2008, 2:12pm.

My trip to Black Rock City this year brought back familiar memories. The smell of dry sweat and playa dust, the hundreds of glowing led lights dancing around the night like neuron firings, and the massive multidimensional soundscape constantly saturating the city air. I found myself lost and found at the same instant. It is impossible to go to Burningman and not be inspired, influenced, educated, and impressed. My trip only lasted about two days but I will never forget it.

Take a good look at this man's moustache.

Now take a closer look.

It's a thing of beauty.  I could only dream (and I have) of growing a moustache as fine as this.  Even though he looks like a pervert it's still worth it.

Did you know Pat Hull's on tour? And you can...

...be there with him!*

*not really, but almost, in a not-there-at-all-but-reading-about-it-and-looking-at-cool-videos kind of way...

All you have to do is hit Pat Hull's Tour Blog HERE for near daily updates (sometimes being on tour means staying in absurdly uncomfortable places that have never and will never have access to "the internets".)
