He Returned
Music came back
like nothing had happened
like he never left.
Sauntered in with a
whaddup look on his face
went strait to the pantry for
some chips and cookies
and shit
I asked him where he went
and he didn't want to talk about it
let's just get to business
he says

Monday Night Sleep
Last night I dreamed of
a nuclear holocaust
a vision of hiding under floorboards
with my family
and a mass of blast survivors
who were collectively,
slowly losing
their minds.
I convinced one
to hand over his massive
handgun, which in my hand
was a tool of God's Holy Wrath
on the wicked.
I weilded the brimstone that
Art of Fatherhood
I just had the single most over-productive weekend of my entire life. Built a sandbox, put together a patio set, got new tires on the car, went to the fair and saw the enduro race (demolition derby in lap form), cooked lots of meals, went on a huge grocery shopping trip, had a wine date with Anna on the new patio furniture, Anna had some family stop by yesterday, got too much sun...
Phsical
I'm in a season of physicality. Not eating meat. Dropping flabby unproductive flesh. Push-ups and dum-bells and sit-ups and bike rides with 2 kids towed on my bike.
I'm in a fighting mood, really missing martial arts. Really missing kneeling down in seiza position meditating on anchoring myself to the center of the earth before standing to invite the enemy into my sphere.
DADDY
I want to go to Chikoko's Elemental SOOO bad but am not going to be able to find a babysitter...I know it. It's so not happening.
I need older kids or more Grandma's or something.
I always miss Chikoko and I just want to support them. They're locals like me! Real locals! That takes major support-priority for me and I don't think I can make it...again.
I'm thinking about bringing them. Maybe we'll just bring them so Coleman can watch all of his girlfriends bring the sass on the runway.
New Music for your ears
Just posted a new track on my blog site for your listening pleasure or hatred. Your critical ears are appreciated. Thanks for caring.

Commonpath BASIC re-engagement Project
I see signs of Commonpath.org around town again. I begin to wear my commonpath t-shirt with a sense of hope, not as a relic of neglected potential.
BASIC website is going well, with large spikes of traffic when KZFR has dropped a BASIC track, or when I cynically write a blog post titled, "Swine Flu Blues" to get accidental traffic.
And yet, I long for the commonpath blogging days. The days when I would carelessly upload a track of new music so somebody...ANYBODY would hear the piece that took me 25 hours to make.
Attention Home Recording Types!!
There are some crazy open source apps I've stumbled accross lately. After some minor probing, one could pick up the recording art obsession with out spending a dollar or cracking software. I found a sweet sound design app called
Gleetchlab 2.3. Must have a pretty fast mac, and must love sound design. If you have those two things you will fall in love with this simple yet very powerful cpu draining tool. Don't melt your computer!
2 boys - 1 job - a coffee train - and new tracks
I am now the father of 2 boys. I don't think it's really sunk in yet. My new one, Sawyer, is so chill and sleeps through the night already, so he helps keep it a little unreal since I was prepared for the 2 month marathon sleepless parenting gig again.
I took some time off which translated to working on new music a little more intensely then normal which was awesome. I hope to have a handful finished for the Gossamer Thread at the CRUX.
Birthing
Anna is about to pop! Any day now I will be a Father to 2 sons. Anna had a natural child birth the first time around, and she's doing it again because she doesn't really remember the first time.
The first time, we learned that she had a real need for music to get lost in during the harder parts of labor. We had this amazing midwife that talked her back down when the labor was getting to be too much to handle. If it wasn't for her, I think she may have gone for the pain killers, not that that's bad, but it just wouldn't have been what she wanted.
